For many Texas families, it’s just not summer yet until you’ve taken a good camping trip. Get things underway by visiting one of these excellent Texas campgrounds.
Fritch Fortress Campground
Fritch is just a four hour drive north from Midland Buick GMC Cadillac, which seems just right for a weekend getaway. Located near Lake Meredith, this campground offers plenty of breathtaking views and fun outdoor activities. It’s also perfect for family trips thanks to its accommodations like trash services, fresh water, and showers. Plus, it’s free!
Bolivar is much farther away from Midland, but the journey is worth it for the beach camping. Pack plenty of food and water and your favorite water toys, because with a $10 permit you’re allowed to drive right onto the beach to set up your campsite there.
Camp Creek Recreation Area
This site is in the same direction as Bolivar, but much closer. Camp Creek is a beautiful place to spend a few days, and also features amenities like fire pits, picnic tables, and grills for easy meal preparation. The land is covered in pecan trees, filled with deer and other wildlife, and welcoming to visitors in every sense of the word!
